Dayan deerkh cave

The Dayan Deerkh Cave is one of the largest and most beautiful caves in Mongolia, located to the east of the center of Tsagaan-Uur soum, Khuvsgul province. In 2006, it was placed under special protection by a resolution of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia. This cave is a rare geological formation and is considered one of the natural treasures of the country. The cave contains more than 10 rooms, featuring various springs and delicate reddish-brown mineral deposits. It has multiple entrances, with several passageways leading in different directions. The cave’s main entrance is a large rectangular opening facing east, measuring 3 x 4 meters, with two smaller openings as well.

This cave preserves a unique natural structure and a deep geological history. Despite undergoing some changes due to human activity over hundreds of years, it has maintained its natural characteristics, which is why it was designated for special protection.
