BELTES RIVER

Beltes river

The Beltess River originates from an elevation of 2,470 meters on the eastern side of Uran Dosh Mountain in the Khoridol Saridagin Range. It flows for 102 kilometers through the territories of Ulaantuu and Bayanzurkh soums in Khuvsgul province, converging with the Ar Shiveg River. It borders the areas of Ulaantuu and Arbulag soums, and from the confluence with the Dund Toomin River to the junction with the Kheetin River, it forms the boundary between Bayanzurkh and Arbulag soums. Continuing through Bayanzurkh soum, the river flows to the east of the soum center and eventually joins the Delger River from the east.

The riverbed is rocky, with a width ranging from 15 to 40 meters and a depth between 0.2 to 1.0 meters. The flow velocity is 1.0 meters per second, and 45 tributaries feed into the river.
