SUM HUH BURD
Sum huh burd
Lake khuh Burd is located in the county of Adaatsag in the province. There used to be three rivers flowing to this lake, but two have dried up due to intermittent droughts. The water level of the only remaining river is gradually decreasing over time. It is known here as a habitat for waterfowl such as mandarin ducks, bar-headed geese, swans and ducks. On the south side of Lake khuh Burd is the Uden Borga hot springs. There is a small island on the lake, and there is also a stone castle ruin that is said to have been built around the 16th and 17th centuries.
The ruins of the castle are 7 to 8 meters high, 10 meters wide, and 25 meters long. The castle consists of four parts surrounded by a wall with a thickness of 150 cm. Around the 16th century, Tibetan aristocrats built temples for Mongolians, but they were forced to return home without completing the construction work. It is said that the construction was completed without the ceiling. Therefore, it was named “Oroigui Sum” (temple without ceiling). Later I made a ceiling, but everything was destroyed by a thunderstorm. It still has no roof.
