Tourism

The province produces approximately 45% of the country’s grain, and has over 570,000 livestock. Selenge Province is home to industries such as timber processing, flour mills, food production, alcohol distilleries, and wagon repair workshops. The capital, Sukhbaatar city, is a key transportation hub, with both railway and road networks, and serves as one of the main border crossing points.

In the mountainous areas of the region, there are forested taigas, while other areas are covered with steppe vegetation and shrubs grow along the river valleys. Forest and steppe animals are found throughout the region.

Major rivers of Mongolia, such as the Selenge, Orkhon, Kharaa, and Yeruu, flow through the region, and there are numerous hot springs as well.
