Located just about 10 kilometers from the center of Selenge province, near the Mongolian-Russian border, this area is renowned for its natural beauty. Previously known as the Temeen Khuzuutin Khotol, the place was renamed Saykhan Khotal after General D. Sukhbaatar famously exclaimed, “This is truly a beautiful khotal./valley/”
One of the natural wonders of Saykhan Khotal is the confluence of the Orkhon and Selenge rivers. These two rivers meet here and continue flowing, eventually draining into Lake Baikal. There is also a cave in the area, believed to have been a gathering place for the Sain people.
