The “Magnetic Rock” located in the Khuder soum of Selenge province is famous for its rare geological features. This rock has been worshipped for centuries and has also been used in traditional medicine.

The people of Khuder speak of how they visit the “Magnetic Rock” to heal joint, limb, back, and kidney ailments. It is even said that people who have suffered from a stroke visit this rock to regain strength and receive healing treatments. To cure themselves, people lie or sit on the rock, roll in the nearby earth, or drink water from the “Tömörtein River” that flows beside it. Though the rock may appear ordinary compared to others, when any metal object is brought near it, the rock magnetically attracts it. The most interesting phenomenon is that if a person wearing a watch approaches the rock, their watch stops. The Tömörtein River flows beneath the rock.

This natural rock, which generates a strong magnetic field, is one of the few in the world and is a source of pride for Mongolia.
