The Taliin Cave is located 15 km to the east of Mount Shiliin Bogd, in the territory of Darynganga soum in Sukhbaatar province, on a flat steppe. Due to its location on the flat land, it is somewhat difficult to find, but there is a stone pile near the cave, making the area stand out. The entrance of the cave faces directly to the east and is narrow, just wide enough for a person to squeeze through. The entrance’s limestone has been significantly weathered and eroded, causing some collapses, and a warning sign has been placed at the cave’s entrance. Taliin Cave is currently the largest and longest known volcanic-origin cave in Mongolia. It has a single main corridor that runs eastward, with two branches emerging from the northern side of the tunnel. One branch curves back and reconnects with the main corridor, while the other extends 11 meters in one direction before ending. The cave is a total of over 245 meters in length.
