Uvurkhangai aimag is located in the central part of Mongolia. The Khangai mountain stretches in the North-West, and the Altai mountain towers in the south-west. The steppe lies in the middle of the territory. The Gobi desert is located in the South.
Tourism
In the province there are majestic mountains like Khyatruun, and plain steppes like Noyokhon Dalai, Arvai, Khar nuden, clear-water rivers such as Ongi, Taath, Orkhon and lakes of Khuis, Tsagaan, Sangiin dalai. The 79 feet (24 m) high waterfall of the Orkhon river (Red Fall), is the major tourist attraction. Amazing places in the province include Khuis eight lakes, Tamchi Yol khad, Yamaatiin Tsant, Khorgoi Khurem, of big and small springs the most famous one is Khujirt, a popular resort. Uvurkhangai is a well-khown tourist destination. Uvurkhangai is a homeland of the ancient Mongolian civilization. There are many ancient monuments, one of them being the Maanit monument with Turk inscription. This monument was erected in 731, CE. Also there are ruins of Kharkhot of Uighur capital city, and ruins of Kharakhorum, former capital of the Mongolian Empire, and Erdene Zuu, the 16th century Buddhist temple.

DAY 1
At 8:00 AM, you will travel by private vehicle to Undur Siret, a vast grassland where hot air balloon rides are available. Upon arrival, you will receive basic instruction from a nomadic guide and be introduced to your horse. You will then enjoy a horse trekking experience across the grassland, based at the campsite. In the early morning or evening (weather permitting), you may take an optional hot air balloon flight (USD 200 per person) and enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Mongolian steppe. In the evening, enjoy the starry sky of the grassland. Overnight stay at a tourist camp (ger).
DAY 2
Upon arrival, the guide will introduce you to the nomadic family, and your homestay experience will begin. You will change into traditional Mongolian clothing (deel), help with daily household chores, learn how to make dairy products, and enjoy horseback riding on the steppe with the nomads. You will also taste traditional dairy products such as yogurt, butter, cheese, and airag (fermented mare’s milk). In the afternoon, enjoy camel riding on nearby sand dunes. In the evening, savor a traditional Mongolian dinner. Overnight stay in a nomadic ger.

DAY 1
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 AM and travel toward the Semi-Gobi Desert (Burdo Sand Dunes), with short stops along the way for coffee, tea, snacks, and scenic views. Upon arrival, visit a local nomadic ger and learn about traditional nomadic culture. Enjoy a one-hour camel ride through the sand dunes, followed by a traditional Mongolian lunch. In the afternoon, experience horseback riding on the grassland (1–2 hours, suitable for beginners). If you wish, enjoy the sunset or sunrise from the sand dunes. In the evening, relax under the starry sky. Overnight stay in a nomadic ger or a tourist camp.
DAY 2
Breakfast will be served at the ger camp at 9:00 AM. Please enjoy some time to relax before departure. At 10:00 AM, we will depart for Ulaanbaatar, stopping along the way at Hustai National Park to look for the Takhi (Przewalski’s horse), known as the last remaining wild horses in the world. (As they are wild animals, sightings cannot be guaranteed and depend on weather and natural conditions.) The tour will conclude upon arrival at a central hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
