Gungarut Nature Reserve<\/strong> is a protected area of significant natural, historical, and cultural importance. It has been under special protection since 2003 and has successfully implemented wildlife and community-based tourism conservation projects, making it a prominent ecotourism destination in Mongolia.<\/p>

The Kherlen River<\/strong> is a popular destination for rafters, kayakers, fishermen, and birdwatchers. Its banks are home to many endangered bird species, and the river itself is home to 38 species of fish, including taimen and lenok.<\/p>
