Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia. A city located in the central part of the country at an altitude of about 1,300 m along the Tora River coast.The population is 1,500,000, which is an extremely concentrated area where nearly half of the country’s population is concentrated.It is the political and economic center of Mongolia, both in name and reality, and is a major stop for international railways from China to Russia.

Tourism

Located in the northern part of the country, high above sea level, Ulan Bator is the coldest capital city in the world. The cultural and business center of Mongolia, and a hub connecting the Trans-Siberian Railway with the Chinese rail system, Ulan Bator has become a thriving urban center in one of the most remote locations in the world. Visit the Tibetan-style Gandan Monastery, one of the few buildings in Ulan Bator to predate WWII and one of the few monasteries to survive the Soviet purge.

MO-1001 Ulaanbaatar half day trip

DAY 1

The tour starts in the morning (or afternoon) with pick-up from your hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Begin your city sightseeing tour, visiting the Buddhist Gandan Temple. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Ger Village. Next, drive to Zaisan Hill for panoramic views of the city from the top. Then head to Sukhbaatar Square, located at the heart of the city. Finish the tour with a visit to Narantuul Market, the largest black market in Ulaanbaatar, where you can shop for souvenirs. Afterward, you’ll be driven back to your hotel.

DAY 1

At 5:00 PM, your guide will pick you up from your hotel. Enjoy a performance by the Tumen Ev National Dance Troupe in a private car for approximately one hour.
At 7:30 PM, after dinner at a Mongolian BBQ restaurant, visit Zaisan Hill, the Monument, and Buddha Park. You will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar, especially at night when the city sparkles like scattered jewels.
